The following set of standards are to be used as guidelines for obtaining “Great Run Elite” status and the support that is available to you as an Elite athlete.

Elite Standards
- All support is based on availability of Elite numbers as these are limited for each race.
- Achieving any of the 3 standards does not guarantee an offer of support being awarded.
- All support is awarded only to the Athlete competing in the Great Run event.
- The Elite Race Managers decision is final and all standards are used as guidelines only.
Bronze Standard. - Complimentary Elite Number Only.
- Top 50 UK Senior Road Rankings at 5km - ½ Marathon, in 2007.
- Top 15 UK Senior Marathon Rankings in 2007.
- Top 30 Finish position in the UK Inter Counties Senior Cross Country Championships.
- Top 20 Finish position in the English National Senior Cross Country Championships.
- Top 10 Finish position in the English Area, Scottish and Welsh Senior Cross Country Championships.
Silver Standard. - Elite Number & Travel covered to an agreed amount by Great Run.
- Top 25 UK Senior Road Rankings at 5km - ½ Marathon in 2007.
- Top 10 UK Senior Marathon Rankings in 2007.
- Top 15 Finish position in the UK Inter Counties Senior Cross Country Championships.
- Top 10 Finish position in the National Senior Cross Country Championships.
- Top 3 Finish position in the Area Senior Cross Country Championships.
Gold Standard. - Elite Number, Accommodation and Travel covered to an agreed amount by Great Run.
- Top 10 UK Senior Road Rankings at 5km - ½ Marathon in 2007.
- Top 5 UK Senior Marathon Rankings in 2007.
- Top 10 Finish position in the UK Inter Counties Senior Cross Country Championships.
- Top 5 Finish position in the English National Senior Cross Country Championships.
- Top 3 Finish position in the Scottish & Welsh National Senior Cross Country Championships.
- Top 3 Finish position in the Area Senior Cross Country Championships.
- Scottish National and English National Senior Track Championship medalist.
All of the above criteria are to be met in the past 12 months from the date of the Great Run event to be entered.
